The G.P. Vanier Towhees junior boys basketball team had a very successful season, winning many games and competing against many top teams on the Island, a spokesperson said.

“Unfortunately the lads fell a little short of their goal of reaching the Provincials. The local teams were all very competitive which bodes well for the future of the game here,” the spokesperson said.

The Towhees hosted two very successful tourneys and are thankful to all the supporters, parents and coaches Tony Edwards and Murray McRae who helped make the season memorable.

A reminder that Thunderball and Run & Gun will run between April to May. This is a great opportunity for boys and girls in Grades 4-9 to work on their game. In addition, the regional U14 and U15 Basketball BC rep team try-outs will be held in the spring. Contact coach Larry Street 250-338-4943.
