Kimberley’s Team Buchy finished out their season strong with a bronze at the U18 Nationals in Sherwood Park Alberta last week.
Team Buchy also won big at the 2019 U18 BC Curling championships in March, dominating the women’s finals.
Skip Kaila Buchy says the Nationals were an amazing experience and the whole team played well all week.
“We lost the first two games so the fact that we were able to come back with the bronze was an awesome feeling,” she said, adding that they were thrilled to represent B.C. and hope to do so again.

Kaila and teammate Arissa Toffolo are now headed to Vancouver to play in the Mixed Provincials with their fathers.
“We’re leaving here right away for two weeks straight of curling, and that’s unfortunately it for the season,” said Kaila.
She adds that her and the team are very pleased with how the whole season panned out.
“We’re all super happy with the way things turned out. For a team that had barely played together to win the province was awesome, and to make it to nationals was an incredible experience,” she said. “I feel very good about the season; the whole team does.”
“It’s a huge accomplishment for these young ladies,” said coach and dad Tom Buchy.
