Shima Karate School had winning results at provincials to continue a remarkable season.
The local club had a contingent of athletes at Karate B.C. championships in Richmond from Dec. 2-3 and many athletes came away with medals.

10-11-year-old intermediate – Azia Deal, bronze, forms, silver, sparring; Brea Gillette, silver, forms; Damon Baerg, bronze, forms, bronze, sparring; Morgan Scarisbrick, bronze, sparring; Owen Hopewell, silver, forms.
10-11-year-old weapons – Oliver Hilderley, bronze, forms.
10-13-year-old weapons – Damon Baerg, gold, forms.
12-13-year-old novice – Cody Linn, silver, forms, bronze, sparring.
12-13-year-old advanced – Sarah Crago, gold, sparring, bronze, forms.
14-15-year-old elite – Coen Francis, bronze, sparring.
15-and-under team – Damon Baerg, silver, forms; Oliver Hilderley, silver, forms; Owen Hopewell, silver, forms.
16-17-year-old advanced – Hanxi MacIlquham, gold, forms; Samantha Wolff, gold, forms, gold, sparring.
