The 2011 Canadian National Whitewater Slalom and Wildwater Championships are taking place August 1-7 at the Tamihi Rapids on Chilliwack Lake Road.
The main events take place Aug. 6-7 as racers from across Canada and the United States clash on the water.
This year, the Chilliwack Centre of Excellence is offering a novice camp during the week for local kids who would like to try the sport.
The camp is on flatwater.
Equipment and coaching is supplied along with a hotdog barbecue, race and chance to win some great prizes.
