Two Kelowna gymnastics brought home some invaluable experience—and a silver  medal—from an international competition in New Zealand.

Jordyn Yendley and Emily Welsh both represented Canada and the Okanagan Gymnastics Centre at the Indo Pacific Championships, Oct. 21 to 25.

Yendley, competing in the 13-14 year-old category, captured a silver medal on the double mini trampoline. She also finished in eighth position on trampoline.

Welsh finished eighth on the double mini trampoline and 15th on trampoline.

The two girls competed together in sychnronized trampoline and finished in seventh place.

Yendley and Welsh qualified for the competition based on their scores from Canada Cup events and the Canadian championships in 2016.

At the nationals earlier this year, Yendley earned double gold on the double mini trampoline and individual trampoline.
