PARKSVILLE – Jim Cotter is all smiles after winning the 2012 Canadian Direct Insurance BC Men’s Curling Championship, presented by DundeeWealth and Save on Foods Sunday night in Parksville.

After a back and forth final game against Brent Pierce, Cotter was left watching as Pierce attempted an angle-raise takeout of Cotter’s loan stone for the victory. The sweepers were called on it early, but it wasn’t enough to hold the line and Pierce’s stone over-curled leaving Cotter with the steal and a 7-5 win.

Jim Cotter, Kevin Folk, Tyrel Griffith, Rick Sawatsky and Coach Rick Folk now advance to the Tim Hortons Brier in Saskatoon, March 3-11.
