The Kerry Park Islanders struggled at both ends of the ice on Wednesday night as they were beaten 7-0 by the Westshore Wolves.

Kerry Park goalie Rett Rook was chased after he allowed three goals on the first three shots he faced in 15 minutes of action. His replacement, Chase Anderson, stopped 17 of 21 shots.

At the other end of the ice, Jordan Spandli turned aside all 28 pucks the Isles fired at him.

Powerplay opportunities were relatively even, with seven for the Wolves and six for the Isles, although the Wolves converted on a pair of their extra-man chances for the first two goals of the game. Westshore also scored on a penalty shot in the second period when Jake Calnan beat Anderson for his first goal of the season.

Islanders forward Kayden Peck led the team in penalty minutes with 14, including a game misconduct, the second consecutive game he has been handed a misconduct. Eric LeBlanc was close behind with 12 minutes in penalties.

The Isles have just one game this weekend as they play host to the Campbell River Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Isles gave the league-leading Storm a scare last weekend, leading for most of the game before they ultimately fell 3-1, and are hoping to build on that on their home ice.
