The Kootenay East Youth Soccer Association (KEYSA) struck success at the Columbia Valley “Clash of the Titans” Youth Soccer Tournament in Invermere over the weekend of May 27 to 29.
KEYSA made the trip north with 11 teams in tow, each of which put forth an outstanding effort, according to KEYSA administrator Brandy Sims.
The U18 boys and U15 girls led the Cranbrook charge, with each club taking home a first-place finish.
KEYSA’s U12 boys’ entry into the tournament landed a second-place finish, while the U12 girls, U13 boys, U14 girls and U16 boys each finished in third place in their respective divisions.
The month of June will take KEYSA to Lethbridge, Alta., and Kalispell, Mont., for more tournament action, while the annual Sam Steele Youth Soccer Tournament is slated for June 18 and 19 at Moir Park and Mount Baker Fields.
The annual youth tourney is already at capacity, with registration full in all divisions.
