KIJHL: Nitehawks roll past Leafs

Beaver Valley scored 3 goals in the second period en route to the 5-2 win.

The Beaver Valley Nitehawks scored three unanswered goals in the second period en route to a 5-2 win over the Nelson Leafs on Friday in Fruitvale.

Tyler Hartman, Damon Kramer, and Devin Ghirardosi each scored in a span of just one minute 47 seconds to break a 2-2 tie. Sam Swanson and Dylan Heppler also scored for the Nitehawks (5-3-2), while Tallon Kramer finished with 30 saves.

Andy Fitzpatrick and Jack Karran, with his first goal of the season, replied for the Leafs (4-4-1). Josh Bolding meanwhile made 29 saves.

Nelson next hosts the Castlegar Rebels on Saturday.
