Ryan Piva scored in double-overtime as the Nelson Leafs held on to beat the Columbia Valley Rockies 3-2 at home on Saturday.
Dale Howell scored twice for the Leafs (8-5-1), which put him in a five-way tie for second in the league with 10 goals on the season thus far.
Backup goaltender Ben Kelsch meanwhile had to make just 12 saves for the win.
Nicholas Wihak and Quinn Sobus replied for the Rockies (3-8-2), while Will McCreight stopped 31 shots.
The Leafs next go on the road for three games before returning to home ice Nov. 4 against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
