The North Okanagan Knights were hoping a road trip to 100 Mile House Tuesday night may change their misfortunes.
The Knights faced the Wranglers having lost eight straight games in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
The Summerland Steam dispatched the Knights 4-1 in a Sunday matinee at Nor-Val Sports Centre in Armstrong.
All the scoring came in the third period with Lathan McKinney netting the winner 6:15 into the session.
Coletone Fisher made it 2-0 two minutes later before Zach Andrusiak countered for the Knights 48 seconds later, assists going to Austin Fournier and Jordan Passmore. Andrusiak took game star.
Paulsen Lautard put Summerland up 30 with 7:22 remaining. Vernon product Cole Woodliffe and McKinney earned helpers.
Nelson Hurry, on a solo effort, completed the offence with 4:41 left.
The Steam improved to 11-7-0-1, good for third place in the Okanagan Division, one point back of the Princeton Posse. The Knights are 2-16-1-2, last in the division and overall.
North Okanagan visits the 3-14-0-4 Columbia Valley Rockies Friday night and tangle with the 10-10-0-2 Golden Rockets Saturday night. The Knights have counted a league-low 35 goals in 21 games.
