The Aldergrove Kodiaks defeated the Abbotsford Pilots Friday evening at MSA Arena for their 23rd regular season win.
The Pilots opened the scoring in the first period for a brief lead but Kodiaks Kurt Klimek event it up a couple minutes later to make it 1-1 going into the second. Klimek’s assists came from Davin Padgham and Matt Oliver.
The Pilots scored early in the second but before the period was over the Kodiaks took a 3-2 lead with a pair of unassisted goals from Oliver and Padgham.
Padgham got his third point of the night with another unassisted goal on a power play in the third, for the insurance. The Pilots scored the final goal in the 4-3 win for the Kodiaks.
The Kodiaks outshot the Pilots in every period for a game total of 45-33, and were the only team to score on one of the four power plays awarded to both teams that night.
Oliver and Padgham were the first and second stars.
The win improves the Kodiaks to 46 points after 29 games.
The Kodiaks have two games left before Christmas break, both at Aldergrove Arena, versus Mission Outlaws on Dec. 14, and versus Surrey Knights on Dec. 21.
