The Aldergrove Kodiaks were stalled from sweeping the first round of playoffs against Mission Outlaws on Sunday.
The Kodiaks had won Game 3 the night before with a score of 5-3, but Sunday it was 8-0 for the Outlaws. Both of the weekend games were played at Mission Leisure Centre.
The result leaves the Kodiaks at 3-1 in the best-of-seven series, with Game 5 set for Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Aldergrove Arena.
In the Sunday game, the Kodiaks outshot the Outlaws in every period for a game total of 47-31, but were simply unable to get the back of the net.
The Outlaws scored twice in the first period, once more in the second and five more in the third. The Outlaws scored on two of eight power plays while the Kodiaks were unable to score on eight power plays.
Kodiaks keeper Dawson Rodin stopped 17 of 20 shots in the first 40 minutes, and backup keeper Caleb Ziemann stopped six of 11 shots in the final frame.
The Kodiaks were in much better form on Saturday, when they outshot the Outlaws 66-30 for a 5-3 win. Both teams scored on one of six power plays each.
The first period was scoreless, but the Kodiaks took a 4-1 lead in the second. Scorers were Kyle Bosko, Matt Oliver, Lincoln Lane, and Quinncy Leroux. Assists came from Oliver, Ty Pickering, Bosko, Kurt Klimek, Jacob De Waal, Sam Bodnaruk, Eric Callegari and Clayton Schroeder.
Kodiaks captain Callegari scored on a power play in the third for the 5-3 win.
Kodiaks keeper Dawson Rodin was named second star for his work in stopping 27 of the 30 shots on his goal.
