The Kootenay Chaos Track Club raked in 30 medals last weekend at a competition in Kelowna.
Seventeen gold, six silver and seven bronze medals were collected by athletes from the club.
Matti Erickson led the way with victories in 13-year-old boys 100-metre, 200 and 300 races, 80 and 200 hurdles, long jump, discus and javelin.
Gabby Paterson, a resident of Salmo, won the nine-year-old girls 60 and 100 races, 60 hurdles and the long jump. Matteo Chirico was first in the 12-year-old boys discus and javelin.
Mitchell Erickson was first in the 10-year-old boys javelin, shot put and placed second in the 600 race. He also teamed up with Koby Upper, Ethan Yanke and Aiden Paterson to place second in the 12-year-old boys 400 relay. Keiran Marchand was first in the 16-year-old boys 1,500, while Avie Waterfall was second in the 13-year-old girls 800.
Bronze medals were won by Carmen Lewandowski in the 11-year-old girls 1,000, Paterson in the 200 and the 200 hurdles, while he also earned silver in the 300 race.
The team has the provincial championships coming up at the end of the month in Surrey.
