Koster captures Sunnydale men’s title

Par for the Course: A round-up of action from Comox Valley golf courses

The Sunnydale Men’s Club teed it up last weekend for the prestigious award of club champion. I don’t think it was much of a surprise when the two-day total added up to 143 and Greg Koster became the new club champion. Only two strokes behind was Tyler Van Anrooy.

Sunnydale’s low net champion, who played in the last group and at one time held the lead with only seven holes remaining and being four-under par up to that point, was Murray Erickson.

I’m sure Greg and Tyler had to dig deep to pull ahead of Murray. Or maybe for Murray reality reared its ugly head. Rick Dawson was only four strokes behind with 135.

Senior club champ goes to Robin Ward with 147. Senior net goes to Jim Buchnan who also made an appearance in the last group on Sunday. The super senior coffin dodger champion is Gerry Rautenberg with a 161. The super net champ goes to Al Edwards who sustained a certain amount of ridicule with a 133.

Remember this is your last chance to sign up for the 2012

Tillicum (Aug. 4-5). See you there.
