Canada has called for Jack Kosterman.

The 14-year-old from Fort Langley has made the final cut and was among the 12 players named to Canada’s entry for the 2013 world junior wheelchair basketball championships.

They will take place Sept. 5 to Sept. 15 in Adana, Turkey.

Kosterman was named to the team on July 3, following a week-long camp Team Canada selection camp in Toronto.

Another Langley player, Justin Johnson, was among the 17 invitees for the camp.

“I am particularly excited by the depth of our juniors across the country with athletes representing seven provinces and territories from coast to coast. Through continued hard work these young men will make an ongoing impact within our national team program for years to come.” said Wheelchair Basketball Canada high performance director Paul Zachau.

The newly assembled team will train from July 22 to Aug. 9.

Canada will be competing with Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Iran, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Sweden and the host Turkish teams.

At the last world junior championships in 2009, Canada finished eighth. Three players on the 2013 team were on that roster as well.
