Along with their golf clubs, 108 Ladies Club members packed water guns and spray bottles for the July 30 round at the 108 Golf Resort.
The water pistols were part of that week’s wine challenge – “Hydration fun” – and were welcome and refreshing with the heat of the day, says member Sharon Thompson.
On the golf course, 28 ladies came out for the weekly round.
Clare Koehn and Shelley Larson made birdies.
Closest-to-the-pin strokes (KP), longest drives and longest putts were recorded.
Carol Ohlund shot the KP on No. 6. Shannon Knapp shot closest on No. 8. On No. 4, Millie Halcro got it closest.
Longest drives came from the clubs of Judy Scarrow on No. 5, Ann Pinkney on No. 1, and Eileen King on No. 7.
Annie McKave drained the longest putt on No. 2; Knapp sunk the longest putt on No. 3; and on No. 1, King dropped the longest shot with her putter.
Cathy Waite dropped the longest putt on No. 9; Leslie Bell did it on No. 5; and Angie Wahnschaff dropped the longest putt on No. 7.
The 108 Ladies Club heads into an inter-club match in Williams Lake on Aug. 11. Golf clubs from Quesnel, 108 Mile and Williams Lake are in the mix, having played two rounds against each other to date for points this summer.
108 Mile is in first place with 919 points. Second place is Quesnel with 938 points and Williams Lake is in third with 945.
