Ladies had a putting good time at Chinook Cove

Ladies Night Golf at Chinook Cove Golf Resort with Leslie Stirling

Fourty-two ladies gathered to celebrate with a round of golf and supper on the patio. We have a fantastic time at Chinook Cove Ladies Night.

Donna Salle golfed a 46 to win low gross in Flight 1 while Susan Newberry took low net with a score of 48. Hub International/Chad Belbin sponsored the flight. Carman and Barb Smith sponsored Flight 2. Ilke Marais had an excellent round of 46 to win low gross while Cori Walker scored 51 to take low net. Flight 3 and 4 were sponsored by the Ladies Golf. Doreen Landry won low gross in Flight 3 by retro scoring a delightful 49. Evelyn Lucas had the identical score to win low net. In Flight 4 Betty Baillie and Marie Hakes both scored 54s to win low gross in Flight 4. It was an exciting night for Trudy Forsythe who scored our first deuce of the season to walk away with a big pot. The birdie pot was split between Cori Walker and Donna Salle. They were excited but not nearly as excellent as Trudy.

Our KP sponsors are MJB Lawyers, Ron Wallace Trucking, Royal LePage/Westwin Realty/Cindy Leibel, Stamer Logging, Barb and Carman Smith, Carl’s Market Garden, Campbell & Company and EBL Ventures. The prizes for KPs this week went to Donna Salle, Trudy Forsythe, Doreen Landry (2), Marie Hakes (2) and Ilke Marais.

KP in 2 on Hole 7 meant that Cori Walker and Marnie Pfeifer walked away with prizes while Donna Salle picked up one for coming Closest to the Tree on the same hole.

If you have ever golfed at Chinook Cove you will know which tree I am talking about.

Rose Seymour came closest to the 150 marker on Hole 9.

Long drives earned prizes for Karen Peterson, Ilke Marais, Babes Shanko, and Marnie Pfeifer. Opportunistic use of a forgiving putter led to prizes for Babes Shanko, Trish Thompson, Fiona Clare, Marian Wallace, Vicki Hoffer, Evelyn Lucas (2) and Sharon Spooner. In other words they putted well. I wish I had a forgiving putter in my bag. Speaking of putting well, Marian Wallace used only 12 putts to win the Low Putt prize while Vreny Kempter used hers 29 times to win the Most Putts.

The Chinook Cove Ladies Night will once again be collecting donations for the Canadian Cancer Society. Our “fun’d raising” night will be Aug. 22. We play a four lady Texas Scramble format with a shotgun start at 5:30 followed by a delicious supper. Pledge sheets were handed out and I encourage you to pledge someone. If you haven’t got your pledge sheet yet talk to me any time.

We Ladies have a great time and help out the Cancer Society at the same time. If you need further information talk to Debbie Rainer or Leslie Stirling (that’s me).

And the joke of the week: Do you know the difference between golfers and politicians? Only golfers can improve their lie.
