Hannah May and Savannah Purdy of Langford rolled undefeated into Monday’s under-14 girls final at the provincial beach volleyball championships in Vancouver.

The May/Purdy tandem were winners in their pool on Sunday, with a perfect 3-0 record. On Monday they squeaked past the Vancouver duo of Towers/Gotto in the quarter-finals in a thrilling tie-breaker, then defeated another Vancouver team, Mistry/Ramsden, to advance to the gold medal match versus defending champions Boughen/Gamache of Abbotsford.

The Langford pair lost 21-17, 21-13 and earned the silver medal, the top finish among three Langford teams competing at the event over the weekend.

Olivia Godek and Miranda Cyr finished seventh among 28 teams in U14 girls, while Gracie May and Taylee Pomponio took fifth in girls U13.
