A Langley player is heading to Havana to compete against seven other teams for a single spot at next year’s FIVB U21 World Championship.
Brodie Hofer of Langley, a left side player for the U21 Canadian men’s team, will be in Cuba from Aug. 27 to Sept. 1. Canada will be competing against Barbados, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Nicaragua and the United States.
Hofer played for Langley Christian high school before committing to TWU in 2016, when he was still in Grade 11.
Canada’s first game is scheduled for Aug. 27 against Haiti, then Aug. 29 against Nicaragua, and on Aug. 29 against the United States.
Other British Columbians on the team include Michael Dowhaniuk of Surrey and Coltyn Liu of Vancouver.
