Langley Fastball scored at the SoftballBC awards gala in Kamloops on the weekend.
The local association was named the Softball BC Association of the Year.
Langley was nominated with Terrace Minor Softball, Prince Rupert Minor Softball, Ridge Meadows Minor Softball and North Langley Softball.
LFA has been working with North Langley Softball on many activities over the past few seasons to boost ball sports in the community.
“As I said in my 15-minute acceptance speech, this is truly a team effort. I made special note to NLS and the relationship we have, as without the spirit of cooperation and collaboration we have built, neither organization would be there as a nominee,” association president Jeff Clegg said in his notice to the ball community.
LFA has about 400 players, ranging in age from five in the Learn to Play division up to adult levels.
The season runs April to late June with the association running many tournaments throughout the year at the Noel Booth Community Park.
The award is more than hardware. It comes with $1,000 for the league to spend and a SoftballBC clinic valued at $1,500.
“These financial awards are greatly appreciated and I’m sure we’ll have fun spending the money,” Clegg said.
