Langley-based Spartans led by White at Harry Jarome Classic

Trinity Western University’s Declan White earned top spot in the 1500m national race to lead the Spartans at the 2015 Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track Classic at Swangard Stadium Monday.

White ran away from the field on the final lap and cruised in for a first place finish with a time of 3:50.23.

In the 200m, TWU’s James Linde finished seventh in a stacked field that saw him compete against the likes of Wallace Spearmon, who was a silver medallist at the 2005 world championships and is a two-time NCAA outdoor champion in the 200m.

Linde crossed the line in 21.71 seconds.

Fellow Spartan Nathan George, who faced a competitive 400m field that included the likes of 2004 Olympic champion Jeremy Wariner, finished sixth overall in 47.49.
