After losing their first game, the Langley Eagles ran the table the rest of the way, capturing top spot over the weekend at the Sam Hanon Memorial Tournament in Summerland.
The Eagles midget A3 hockey team finished second in their pool.
In the semifinals, Langley scored a 4-3 overtime victory over the Chilliwack Bruins and then hammered the Spokane Chiefs 6-0 in the gold medal game.
“We just wanted it more and worked harder than the other teams,” stated Langley coach Ed Baker, who was impressed with his team’s effort in their first tournament of the season.
The Langley Midget A3 Eagles are Mitchell Ambridge, Sheldon Baker, Mark Balcita, Justin Butler, Ryan Chegwidden, Dylan Geiger, Zach Glendenning, Matt Hall, Isaiah Hanson, Noah Hillsdon, Josh Lagler, Jordan Lazar, Brett Reader, Jordan Roberge, Matt Romero, Calvin Stewart, David Stickney, Jason Wiens, and Cole Wynn. They are coached by Ed Baker, Richard Chegwidden and Doug Stewart.
