Langley golfers crack top 10 at MJT stop in Pitt Meadows

Langley's Winnie Hyun falls in playoff in girls division

Langley golfers delivered five top 10 finishes at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s first stop in the three event MJT Ford Series.

It was held June 1 and 2 at the Swan-e-Set Bay Resort in Pitt Meadows.

In the girls division, Winnie Hyun and Ye Ji Kim were second and third, respectively.

Hyun, 18, actually tied for the 36-hole lead after shooting rounds of 79-78. But Hyun lost in the second playoff hole to Richmond’s Alisha Lau.

The 15-year-old Lim was two strokes back.

In the bantam boys division, 14-year-old Willis Lee was tied for fourth after two straight rounds of 79 and 13-year-old Andy Kim was eighth with an 82 and 80.

Another local golfer, 14-year-old Daniel Hyun was tied for 13th.

And in the juvenile boys division, 15-year-old Alex Walker was ninth after rounds of 82 and 84.

Two other local golfers, Jake Hall and Dobson Ironmonger were 15th and 16th, respectively.
