The next two Langley Thunder home games both have charitable ramifications.
The Thunder host the Victoria Shamrocks at the Langley Events Centre on July 5 at 7 p.m. with the Make A Wish Foundation the beneficiary of the game’s proceeds.
And when the New Westminster Salmonbellies are in town the following week (July 12), the Thunder will auction off their jerseys in support of the Tessa Beauchamp Foundation.
The Foundation was created in the memory of the 18-year-old who passed away after a long and painful battle with cancer.
While the Thunder have supported the Foundation in past years, this is the first time they are partnering wit the Make A Wish Foundation.
The game, which is being sponsored by Quorum Construction Group, will see fans gain admittance by donation. And half of the 50/50 draw’s proceeds will also go to the Make A Wish Foundation.
Thunder president Ken Buchan chose Make A Wish as the beneficiary after sending out emails to prospective charities.
