Langley teenager Caleb Davies claimed the crown at the Optimist Chilliwack Fred Wellsby Junior Divot golf tournament, taking top spot at Thursday’s championship invitational.
The last of six rounds was played July 16 at the Chilliwack Golf Club, with the best golfers from five qualifying rounds hitting the par-69 course.
Davies, a 16-year-old, took 76 shots to get through 18 holes. His score was three better than Chilliwack rival Joe Corke, who carded a 79.
A pair of Owens, Hornsby and Hopfner, tied for third with matching 82s.
Seventeen youths participated in the championship round.
