Their Western Lacrosse Association season may be all but lost, but the Langley Thunder are still showing some fight.
The Thunder improved to 2-11 on the season after edging the Maple Ridge Burrards 10-8 in overtime Saturday at the Langley Events Centre.
Langley’s Cole Shafer, at the 2:49 mark, and Jordan Dance at 9:54, scored the only goals of the first overtime period.
Langley held the lead on seven different occasions, only to see the Burrards score to tie the game.
The Burrards’ Mike Mallory found the net with 2:23 to go in regulation to tie the score 8-8 and send it into overtime.
Shafer was named the game’s first star, scoring three times and adding an assist.
Mallory led the Burrards’ attack with three goals and two assists.
Langley hosted the Burnaby Lakers on Wednesday at the LEC.
