Sixteen athletes, two managers, and one apprentice coach from Langley are bound for Winnipeg and the 2017 Canada Summer Games.
Team BC is ready to take on the best athletes in the country at the Games which begin July 28.
In total, 354 athletes, 52 coaches, 27 managers and technical support staff, and 22 mission staff make up Team BC.
Competition will take place in 16 sports, featuring teams and athletes from Canada’s 13 provinces and territories.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the games and coincides with Canada’s 150th birthday.

Games experience
Team BC finished third behind Ontario and Quebec at the 2013 Canada Summer Games with 122 medals.
In total, 57 per cent of the Team BC athletes and coaches have previously competed at the BC Winter or BC Summer Games, bringing a wealth of experience to the event.

This multi-sport event has participation from every province and territory in Canada. The games are held every two years, alternating between winter and summer.
The 2017 games are July 28 to Aug. 13 in Winnipeg, bringing together roughly 4,000 athletes, coaches, and managers.
