Fort Langley’s Sarah Pucek is getting set to box for the North American Boxing Federation championship this April, said trainer and fight promoter Dave Allison.
Pucek will face off against Marquita Lee of San Francisco on April 7 at the Coast Convention Centre in the Cascades Casino in Langley, in the latest Clash at the Cascades event.
Pucek won a British Commonwealth Championship last September when she defeated Lucia Larcense.
The featherweight boxer from Langley will be taking on Lee, a super-featherweight four pounds above Pucek’s normal fighting weight, said Allison.
A win will secure Pucek as the highest ranked featherweight in the world without a world title belt.
Tickets can be bought at the door and will be available at 7 p.m. with fights at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $40 and kids 12 and under are free.
