The Nelson Leafs’ nine-game unbeaten streak came to an end with a 5-3 loss on the road Saturday against the Fernie Ghostriders.
The Leafs led 3-2 heading into the third period but gave up three unanswered goals.
Shawn Grobowsky, Mitchell Lavoie and Kalem Hanlon scored for the Leafs (27-10-2), while Caiden Kreitz allowed four goals on 33 shots.
Tyler Witzke and Jordon Kromm each scored twice for the Ghostriders (23-12-7), while Brendan Nemes added a single and Justin Faiella stopped 25 shots.
Nelson returns home Sunday afternoon for a 4 p.m. game against the Golden Rockets.
