The Nelson Leafs scored five unanswered goals en route to a 9-4 win over the Grand Forks Border Bruins on Tuesday.
Jackson Vyse scored twice for the Leafs (12-2-3), who won their 12th straight game. Alek Erichuk, Cole Wyatt, Shawn Campbell, Lane Goodwin, Jaden Shumilak, Reid Wilson and Logan MacDonald also scored, while Bryden Pow chipped in with three assists.
Nelson native Tenzin Mint made his season debut in net by stopping 18 shots.
Elvis Slack had two goals with Keaghan Holub and Brock Shields adding singles for Grand Forks (8-9-1). Border Bruins goalie Dillon Beebe allowed eight goals on 21 shots before being replaced by Shane Zilka, who gave up one more on 10 shots.
The Leafs have dominated their Neil Murdoch Division rival to start the season, having won all three games against the Border Bruins while outscoring them 19-9.
Nelson next visits the Spokane Braves on Friday. The Leafs return home on Nov. 15 against the Chase Heat.
