The Nelson Leafs have taken a strangle hold on their playoff series with the Spokane Braves, thanks to a 2-1 victory on Saturday night.
All the scoring took place in the first period and then the defences took over.
Quinn Klimchuk and Connor Tetlock scored for Nelson and goaltender Adam Maida was solid in the nets again stopping 37 of 38 shots he faced.
His counterpart in the Spokane net, Jon Manlow, was equally impressive, stopping 38 of 40 shots.
The Leafs can now wrap up their first round playoff series with a win on Monday night, back at the Nelson and District Community Complex.
The puck drops at 7 p.m.
