David Lee became the first paraplegic wheelchair athlete to complete the Subaru Ironman Canada race

David Lee became the first paraplegic wheelchair athlete to complete the Subaru Ironman Canada race. Lee crossed the finish line Sunday in 12:48:43. North American Sports reported that the 42-year-old American had competed in the Ironman Canada event in the past but was unsuccessful in reaching his goal. Lee was paralyzed in a 1990 motorcycle accident and completing Ironman Canada was a life goal, along with competing in a World cycling Championships (2007 in Bordeaux, France) and Paralympic Games (2008 in Beijing China).
