The North Okanagan Legends will have three teams in their home Bantam lacrosse tournament starting tonight.

The Legends #2 take on Coquitlam at Priest Valley Arena, while the Legends #1 face the Abbotsford Warriors at Civic Arena in 4 p.m. games. The Legends #3 battle West Kootenay at 7 p.m. at Civic. All three local clubs are in the B side.

The 12-team tourney resumes Saturday morning at Wesbild Centre and Civic until 6:30 p.m. The A side final goes Sunday, 12:15 p.m., at Wesbild.

Other entries include the Calgary Axeman, Ridge Meadows Burrards, Langley Thunder, Delta Islanders and Kamloops.

The #1 Legends warmed up for the tournament by falling 14-6 and 12-5 to the Kelowna Kodiaks in league play last weekend.

Stephane Richard pulled the hat trick in the opener, while Mykl Drabiuk scored twice and Dawson Boyce once.

The Legends got two goals from Chase Wirth and singles from Richard, Jordan Barr and Drabiuk in the second loss.

The North Okanagan Pee Wee #2 Legends played three league games last weekend, falling 6-4 to Kamloops #1 in a rematch of the gold-medal game won by Kamloops at their recent tournament.

The pace was fast, and the short-benched Legends couldn’t keep up despite great performances from sniper Dakota Campen and goalie Troy Cuzzetto.

In Sunday morning action, Casey Sherriff’s Legends faced Kamloops #2 in back-to-back games, taking the opener 6-4 behind inspiring performances from Caedon Bellmann, Randall Toop and Kaden Doughty and a bulldozer-like goal from Jacob Brewer that pushed the Legends over the hump.

Kamloops won 6-3 in Game 2. The Legends got heroic performances from Brandon Matvenko, Tanner Wright, Sorcha Pasco and Kalen Webster.
