Football players are taking to the fields, with Quesnel’s young football teams taking on their first games of the season this month.

The players have been out at Cariboo Field ever Tuesday and Thursday preparing for their opponents.

Tackling tough obstacles and drills throughout the evening practices, despite Quesnel Minor Footballs rocky start. With a shortage of players the hopes of having a pee wee team were lost.

But it’s not all bad news for Quesnel Minor Football teams, having made both an atoms and junior bantam team to represent Quesnel on the fields this year.

Sept. 6 marked the first game of the season for Quesnel minor football.

The atoms travelled to Prince George to taking on the local team on their home field.

It was a nail biting afternoon, with a final score of 18-15 in favour of P.G.

But, the loss has not dampened their spirit and the team is ready to try again

The atoms players are geared up and ready to play again this weekend, this time on their home field.

Come cheer on the team this Saturday as Quesnel faces off against Williams Lake players at the Cariboo Field, 11 a.m.
