Levarsky named second-team All-Canadian

Sullivan Heights Secondary alum, and current soccer star at UFV, has been recognized by U Sports.

Monika Levarsky’s record-breaking season at the University of the Fraser Valley was capped with an All-Canadian nod last week.

Levarsky, a Sullivan Heights Secondary grad and key member of UFV’s women’s soccer team, was named to U Sports (formerly CIS) second All-Canadian team. She was named a conference all-star earlier this month.

Levarsky set a team record in goals this season with 10 – a number that could have even been higher, had she not had to miss the last weekend of the season after injuring her knee.

Ten goals tied Levarsky for second in the league, and she also added six assists.

“We play in the toughest division (Pacific) of the toughest conference in U Sports, and for Monika to achieve this level of success with the opposition we face, she truly is deserving of this award,” UFV Cascades head coach Rob Giesbrecht said.

“We’re very proud of her… she’s worked hard.”
