The 2014-15 Yale Secondary Lions basketball program is off to another great start.
The junior girls team currently has a record of 6-0. They went undefeated in their own tournament this past weekend and earlier in the year had a big 51-44 win over program rival, the Mouat Hawks.
The senior girls team is also off to an impressive 3-1 start. Their only loss came to Lord Tweedsmuir in the Yale tournament in a game that went back and forth with many lead changes. The team is led by Grade 11 player and high-scorer Jade Bird.
The Yale Lions junior boys team is made up of 11 Grade 9s and only one Grade 10 player. Currently the team has a 2-1 league play record and is 3-6 overall.
The Yale Senior boys are currently 6-2 in exhibition play. The squad went undefeated at the Yale Tournament, beating South Delta, Abby, and Lord Tweedsmuir. The tournament MVP was Jauquin Bennett-Boire and top defensive player honours went to Terry Kwon.
