Campbell River’s Lindsay McLoughlin is Vancouver Island University’s Mariner athlete of the year for the second time.

McLoughlin, a volleyball player who won the award in 2008 when the Mariners won the nationals, accepted the award at the Mariner’s awards banquet on April 20.

McLoughlin, a volleyball player who won the award in 2008 when the Mariners won the nationals, accepted the award at the Mariner’s awards banquet on April 20.

In her final year with Mariners, McLoughlin had one her best seasons ever, being named British Columbia Colleges Athletics Associations’ Athlete of the Week, Canadian College’s Player of the Month and becoming a provincial tournament and national tournament all-star.

She was also a national and provincial silver medalist.
