Local curlers going to B.C.s

The field is set for the 2016 Tim Hortons B.C. Junior Curling Championships, in Kamloops, where locals will be looking to make some noise on the ice.

Michaela Douglas, from Parksville, and her teammates will be among the eight junior women’s teams in Kamloops (from December 29 to January 3) looking to represent British Columbia and advance to the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Championships in Stratford, Ontario at the end of January.

Douglas serves as the second on the team, along with skip Shawna Jensen, third Katherine Silversides, lead Rebecca Douglas and fifth Sarah McCrady. Team Jensen is coached by Dave Douglas.

The junior men’s and women’s finals will be televised live on Rogers Sportsnet. You can check out the schedule at www.curlbc.ca/communications/tv-schedules for times on January 3.
