Local racers running strong

The stockcar-racing season in the B.C. Interior is coming to an end but the next two races are the biggest

The stockcar-racing season in the B.C. Interior is coming to an end but the next two races are the biggest. Both Clearwater teams of Bob Mear and Ryan Sorenson getting their cars ready for the championship show for ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) and A&W Street Stocks on Sept. 10 in Vernon. Then they will race again in Vernon on Sept. 24 for Sorenson’s Street Stock Invitational as well as the WCSS Fall Classic.

Both teams are running strong of late. Mear has two fourth place finishes in his last two main events and Sorenson has a fourth and a fifth in his last two main events. Both drivers look forward to the next couple of races.

Mear is running ninth in ARCA points and fourth in WCSS points in his first season with his new car. Sorenson is running fifth in A&W Street Stock points and is also running strong.

The racers send their appreciation to their crew members and families as well as all the Clearwater fans that follow them.
