Equestrian Andrea Dobbs of Canim Lake wrapped up a successful 2012 riding season by adding the BC Sporthorse-Sportpony Breeders Group Champion Youth Rider Award in the 14-18-years division, to her ever-growing collection.
The awards presentation was held at the Langley Golf and Banquet Centre, Feb. 17.
Andrea also won the 2012 Horse Council of BC Youth Sportsmanship Award and qualified for the BC Young Riders team for dressage. Riding with the youth team is considered a step in pursuing a spot on the Canadian team.
Andrea’s mom, Carolyn Dobbs, was also winner with her Anglo-Arabian, BR Veruschka (Vana), which won BC Sporthorse championships in both the Four Year and Over Conformation, and the Open Horse Performance divisions.
