For the second consecutive year, Boseko Lokombo and the Oregon Ducks are celebrating a prestigious Bowl Championship Series (BCS) victory.
Lokombo, a junior linebacker with the Ducks and a grad of Abbotsford’s W.J. Mouat Secondary, helped Oregon to a 35-17 triumph over the Kansas State Wildcats in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl last Thursday.
The Ducks were Rose Bowl champs last season, beating the Wisconsin Badgers 45-38.
Lokombo registered five solo tackles in the Fiesta Bowl, helping to limit Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein – a Heisman Trophy finalist – to 151 yards passing and 30 yards rushing.
Lokombo is the top-rated prospect for the 2013 CFL draft, but whether or not he’s selected, he’s planning to return to the Ducks for his senior season.
