A big game from Kevin Lourens on Friday sparked the Abbotsford Pilots to a perfect weekend.

Lourens scored a hat trick in regulation time and added a goal in the shootout as the Pilots edged the Port Moody Black Panthers 4-3 at MSA Arena. It was an important game for the local junior B club, as the Panthers came in nipping at their heels for first place in the Pacific International Junior Hockey League’s Harold Brittain Conference.

Lourens continued his hot play on Saturday, scoring two more goals as the Pilots beat the North Delta Devils 4-2 at Sungod Arena. Riley Lamb, the PIJHL’s fourth-leading scorer, added two goals and an assist for Abbotsford, while goalie Cole Chreptyk turned aside 23 of 25 shots.

The Pilots (21-11-5) are back in action on Friday, when they host the Aldergrove Kodiaks (7:30 p.m., MSA Arena).
