Brady Lynn’s hat trick was the difference on Saturday night as the Cowichan Valley Capitals beat the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 6-3 for their second win in as many games on a road trip to the Interior.
The Caps carried a 3-1 lead into the third period, only to see the Silverbacks score twice in the first minute and 17 seconds of the final frame to draw even. Preston Brodziak restored Cowichan’s lead at 17:25, then Lynn scored his second of the game 27 seconds later and added an empty-netter with 1:11 left to play.
Paul Sellect had a goal and two assists, and Keegan Craik scored his first B.C. Hockey League goal in the first period. Olivier Gauthier also registered a pair of helpers. Jack Grant made 28 saves for the win in the Cowichan net.
The Caps wrap up their Interior road trip on Sunday afternoon when they visit the West Kelowna Warriors at 2:30 p.m.
