There were numerous medals won by athletes from Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows at the B.C. Summer Games in Nanaimo over the weekend.
Erick Villanueva won gold in the boys long jump, and took bronze in the boys 4x100m relay for the Fraser Valley.
Madelyn Huston took silver in the girls 4x400m relay.
Sara Hoffman won silver in girls long jump.
Swimmer Amber Czerniej of Pitt Meadows won gold in the girls 4x50m relay.
In Equestrian events, Katrina and Casandra Lashmar of Pitt Meadows and Chelsea Wensley of Maple Ridge were part of an equestrian team for Zone 3 that won the overall team event
Haden Harty and Anthony Kalinich of Maple Ridge and Mackenzie Rope of Pitt Meadows took silver in lacrosse.
Andy Dodge was on the gold-medal winning soccer team.
Brittney Gumbert of Maple Ridge and Shaina Eyre of Pitt Meadows won gold in softball.
Sophia Scarcella of Pitt Meadows and Sara Van Der Starren of Maple Ridge took bronze in synchronized swimming.
Hannah MacQuarrie of Maple Ridge took gold in Valleyball.
Gold medals for field lacrosse went to Dylan Macintosh, Daytin Vidovich, William Clayton and Connor Evers of Pitt Meadows, and Maple Ridge’s Dylan McCormick.
The Valley inline hockey team won silver, thanks in part to the efforts of Maple Ridge’s Noah Marchand.
The gold medal winning Canoe/Kayak team had several Maple Ridge athletes: Gill Fedechko, Matthew Koehler, Justin Won, Jeffrey Jiang, Tyler Demidoff, Melody Oh and Jia Kim.
Dylan Allan took third in equestrian dressage.
They contributed to a Fraser Valley Zone Three team that won the Games, with 79 gold, 72 silver and 56 bronze medals.
