Marlins at their best in Smithers

The Kitimat Marlins Swim Club sent a small group of eight swimmers to the Smithers Regional swim meet over the weekend. Six out of the eight swimmers are in their first or second year of swimming so were primarly shooting to beat their personal best times.

The Kitimat Marlins Swim Club sent a small group of eight swimmers to the Smithers Regional swim meet over the weekend.  Six out of the eight swimmers are in their first or second year of swimming so were primarly shooting to beat their personal best times.

In the 11-12 girls category Kleanza Cathers(11) took the gold medal for overall points.  She also swam personal best times in all 6 of her individual races.

In the 13-14 girls category Paige Collier(13) took the bronze medal for overall points.  She also had the biggest one swim improvement of the meet with a 15 second improvement in her 400 meter freestyle.

Swimming to the tough task of personal best times in all 6 of their individual events were Morgan Nichol (10), Nicholas Cordeiro (11) and Hayden Dobbin (11).

The Marlins next swim meet will be the largely attended Prince George Invitational Swim meet in mid April.
