NORTH SAANICH — Glen Meadows is hosting their annual Men’s Masters Bonspiel next week with a full slate of 32 teams.
Matches run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Feb. 10 to 13. Fourteen teams are coming in from the Victoria, Esquimalt, Juan de Fuca and Duncan curling clubs.
“It’s nearly fifty-fifty,” said Barry Hodgkin, a Glen Meadows member. “There’ll be a good variety of teams. It’s a very popular event.”
Teams will all start in the ‘A’ event. Winning teams remain in the premiere event while losses move teams down into the B, C or D events, depending on number of defeats. The final championship games in all four events start early on Friday, Feb. 13.
The prize giving ceremony will take place that Friday at 3:30 p.m.
The public is encouraged and welcomed to attend and watch the games. Food and beverage facilities will be available.
