The Nelson Leafs continue to dominate the early KIJHL season after another blowout win Friday.

Rhett Hamilton scored twice, while Reid Vulcano, Hunter Floris, Suren Rivard and Brandon Costa also added singles for Nelson (3-0-0). Simon Nemethy meanwhile had a four-point game with one goal and three assists.
David Guererro meanwhile made his first start of the season for Nelson with a 22-save performance.
Kayden Bugiera had the lone goal for Grand Forks (0-3-0). Harrison Tutt got the start in the Border Bruins net but was pulled after allowing nine goals on 46 shots. He was replaced by Adam Billings, who gave up one more goal in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Byrne, who was named KIJHL’s first star in the first week of the season, now has five goals and six assists through just three games.
The Leafs had been set to play the Coyotes in Osoyoos on Saturday before the KIJHL postponed its season through Dec. 8.
