After a good race in Williams Lake on May 29, the Bob Mear racing team headed off to Mear’s old stomping ground of Prince George for number three of the stockcar race series.

According to Mear, with a new race motor installed in the car, it was fast right out of the trailer for the June 20 event.

He qualified 10th out of 15 cars – his best ever, took fourth in his heat and then won a hard fought third place in the 100-lap main event.

“Yes, our first ever podium finish,” Mear said. “Thanks to my crew with their attention to detail and a well prepared car that has a lot to do with it running so good.”

Next stop was Vernon for a West Coast Sportsman Series (WCSS) event on July 2.

Once again the car was fast, qualifying in the top 10 and finishing third in the heat.

“After leading the main event for 16 laps I was punted off the track by another car, restarted in the back of the field and worked my back to a fifth place finish,” Mear reported.

Next race will be an ARCA event in Quesnel on July 16.

“See ya at the races,” said Mear.
