The Kelowna Skating Club struck for 33 medals at the Okanagan Interclub figure skating competition Nov. 29 and 30 at West Kelowna’s Royal LePage Centre.

A highlight of the event occurred in the Juvenile Women under-11event, as a trio of Kelowna skaters swept the podium.  Leading the way was Kelowna’s Maya Rose, who skated a clean program and finished with a personal-best 31.11 points.  Summer Peitsch and Alexis Garost finished second and third, respectively. Rose, an 11-year-old Casorso Elementary student, also went on to win group one of Open Elements.

Another podium sweep transpired in the STAR 5 under 10 girls event, as Malayna Lesko, Emily Sales, and Mackenzie Nelmes took gold, silver, and bronze, respectively.

The 8-year-old Lesko would also take gold medals in group 3 of Elements level 3, as well as group 1 of the Bronze Creative event.

Meanwhile, 10 year-old Aurora Schultz won multiple gold medals of her own, winning both the STAR 4 girls under 10 and group 1 of the Elements level 1 division.

Abbey Reiter (Junior Silver Women), Madeline Foley (Pre-Juvenile Women under 14), Vienna Harwood (Pre-Juvenile Women under 11), Daria Carr (Open Elements group 2), and Sally Haaheim (Silver Creative group 2) struck even more gold for the Kelowna contingent.
